Reflections from the Heart

Happy Birthday to Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln. I'm sorry that I didn't send you greeting cards but I doubt you would have read them. No Valentine's Day cards for you either but you sure were special!

If you need a reason to examine the important things in your heart Saturday gives you an opportunity. What's on your mind and in your heart?

Here are a few of my reflections:

* Second chances for Sarah after two years of chaos. The crust of pain and dried tears are wiped away by the peace and joy of seeing you strong.

* Neglected family and friends who did not give up on us. Thanks for the encouragement and prayers - they are indeed gifts from the heart.

* Best is the spouse and partner who battled the disease - you are the gift of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

I marvel at the strength of Sarah. You can stand proudly with your brothers and sister. Each of you has been tested in the crucible of life.

Darwin dreamed and changed the course of science. Lincoln dreamed and changed humanity.

We now cautiously live the dream that our children and grandchildren are happy and healthy.

Works for me! Happy Valentine's Day!
