Jujutsu expresses the philosophy of yielding to an opponent's force rather than trying to oppose force with force. Manipulating an opponent's attack using his force and direction allows jujutsuka to control the balance of their opponent and hence prevent the opponent from resisting the counter attack. (Wikepedia)
Is there some form of jujitsu that can be employed against heroin addiction?
We've been flipped over the last few days.
* Sarah has been welcome at home for R & R from the recent trauma.
* We've talked recently with bf's Mom trying to resolve a thorny problem. Collaboration works better than assumptions!
* Sarah reunited with about a dozen kids from high school -- out for a couple of nights with old friends is better than with new "friends!"
* She declined to accompany Suze to Michigan to see Gma, aunts, and some cousins --- but would that be atypical of any college student home on break, especially an arch-independent like herself? She kinda regrets not going.
Other news:
* We enjoyed most of Sarah's intermittent presence since her breakout from treatment
* Sarah continues to investigate housing options -- we've seen 6 or so, many in risky neighborhoods. The "couch of friends" solution is not sustainable.
* Challenges ahead for Sarah: survival; adjust expenses (mounting) with income (none at this time); enrolling in the "Healthy Indiana Plan"; attending meetings; balancing craving with fighting addiction; juggling fun with work; finding her way!
Other than that, one day at a time!
