Roadtrip! Nine hours to Leawood. Maggi and Sarah snuggled in the backseat. Mom and Dad were pretty tired of driving but the old GPS kept us right on track, although a couple of "turn descriptions" need updating. Getting there was not half the fun, being there was all the fun.How often do you get love notes from Molly in your room on the pillow? Conor is now big enough that he communicates, negotiates, wheedles, plays pirate games, and pees only when Grampie Soapie takes him to the public restroom at the Pumpkin store? And Peter, the third child of a second child of a third child. What another special grand child. Another gift. The Sacrament of Baptism is pictured, here.
While bragging about a few grandchildren we salute Alexis Rose, our first grandchild, now a pre-teen with a cell phone and a boy friend. She has a nice social style and relates to all, younger kids to adults. A sweetie. Hats off to Kienan. You'll hear more about him at Thanksgiving time.
Grandchildren are great fun for Grammie and Grampie!
Walks are special. Special with special people. Son-in-law Chris tolerates my interference trying to distract kids from their stubborn selves. He's not bothered when Erin and I sneak out for our "how are you" walks. No agenda, just a time of peace amid the chaos of having 11 people and Maggi under the same roof. Walks are more fun.
Susan and I want to share these blessings in our lives. The story is incomplete as you will learn in the next blog. Enjoy this one for now.
