Every day I get in the queue (Too much, the Magic Bus)
To get on the bus that takes me to you (Too much, the Magic Bus)
I'm so nervous, I just sit and smile (Too much, the Magic Bus)
Your house is only another mile (Too much, the Magic Bus)
Thank you, driver, for getting me here (Too much, the Magic Bus)
You'll be an inspector, have no fear (Too much, the Magic Bus)
I don't want to cause no fuss (Too much, the Magic Bus)
OK, so flash forward 40 years from when The Who released this pop hit and 'lo and behold, our own Carmel Greyhound is reunited with the "real Greyhound", a BUS! If all goes as unplanned, she'll board the Ann Arbor-to-Indy bus, arriving this evening with Brooke in-tow.
The girls are going through the "full homeless experience", having spent last night in the luxury of a Red Roof Inn, albeit with no money and hope of a small bailout of their own. Bus tix!
What mean roommates had they?
Banished them from the pad where they stay,
Just for harboring a drug shootist in the loo,
Ow, what are two girls to do?
You know, I studied education and government in college but it seems I learn more than I teach. Right, I'm not good at either teaching or learning but then again, what do you say when one makes the same choice, time after time. It's a cliche' that the definition of insanity is "doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result". I've learned that one must change some of the variables to get a different result. Haven't been too good at teaching that lesson if measured by life as we find it!
OK, Sarah. Change a few variables! PUL- LEAZE!
Take the first step, work the second, being the third: (NA 12 Steps!)
1. We admitted that we were powerless over our addiction, that our lives had become unmanageable. (Correct)
2. We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. (Give it up! There is nothing to figure out, nothing to do except accept that we don't have the power to fight this, that we are powerless and need the help of a Higher Power!)
3. We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. If you are not listening to God, who are you listening to?

Home will be a port in the storm. Your money is exhausted. You quit your job. You have no place to stay. Behavior and communication has been inconsistent. Is this a cry for help??
Who are you going to listen to? While it has been inconvenient to buy into the message, the program staff at Rosecrance, your counselor Janice, the people at Fairbanks, your sponsor, the staff at the Ranch, and even your family have all urged you to stay on the path to Recovery, to work the 12 Steps with a Sponsor! No shortcuts. No speeding the process. No bending the rules!
If your mind is open, please listen to the options! Give up a little. Give up the miseable problems of yesterday for a better life tomorrow! Same theme: just think about the gift of your life: yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, that's why today is called a gift: the present! Trust that following the right path will take you to the mystery of tomorrow, equipped to handle the challenges!
Grab the present, compromise, and take aim for a better tomorrow! We love you.

I'm glad you still have some humor left in you, Pops. And, by the way ... it's "puh-leeeeeeease." :)
As always, we are thinking of you and the family with the greatest love and support. Your courage is encouraging.
